Everest Film Awards 2026: ‘Anjila’ Wins Best Feature Film, Deepak Raj Giri and Meruna Magar Honored as Best Actors

Kathmandu — The Nepal Everest Film Festival 2026 Award Ceremony, held under the Everest International Film Festival China, was successfully organized on Tuesday at the Film Development Board, Kathmandu. The event celebrated the excellence of Nepali cinema by honoring outstanding films and artists with prestigious awards and cash prizes.


A total of 21 films participated in the festival, among which six films were selected for the final competition. Among the winners, the film ‘Anjila’ received the Best Feature Film Award along with a cash prize of USD 4,000

Director Shankar Ghimire was honored with the Best Director Award for Tel Visa and received a cash prize of USD 2,000. Actress Meruna Magar won the Best Actress Award for Kabaddi 4, while actor Deepak Raj Giri was awarded Best Actor for Chhakka Panja. Both received cash prizes of USD 1,000 each.


In technical categories, Hostel 3 won the Best Editing Award with a cash prize of USD 1,000, while Mahajatra secured the Best Cinematography Award along with a cash prize of USD 1,000.


The award ceremony highlighted the creativity, talent, and growing international presence of Nepali cinema. The organizers expressed that such international platforms help promote Nepali films and filmmakers on the global stage while strengthening cultural exchanges between Nepal and China.
