The International Feature Film Selection Committee of Nepal has decided to recommend the film ‘Aina Jhyalko Putli’ directed by Sujit Bidari for the 95th edition of the Oscar Awards to be held in America next year. The committee’s meeting held on Monday decided to recommend ‘Aina Jhyalko Putli’ among the films received.
The International Feature Film Selection Committee of Nepal had asked the filmmakers who are interested in joining the Oscar competition to submit their films by August 30, 2079. According to the same notification, Prakash directed by Dinesh Raut, Radha directed by Suvarna Thapa and Aina Jhyalko Putli directed by Sujit Bidari had applied for participation from Nepal.
The committee has decided to recommend “Aina Jhyalko Putli” out of the three films received, taking into consideration the technical aspect of cinema, the presentation of the story, the emotional analysis of the characters and the artistry of the presentation.
This year’s Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. In Nepal, there is an eight-member International Feature Film Selection Committee chaired by Bimal Paudel. Laxminath Sharma, Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, Rajendra Shalabh, Rajuvikram Thapa, Samipyaraj Timalsena, Lokendra Parajuli ‘Kapil’, Chiranjeevi Guragai are members of the committee.
