KATHMANDU – The nominees for the 3rd International Nepali Film Award (INFA) 2026 have been officially unveiled, setting the stage for one of the biggest celebrations of Nepali cinema. Organized jointly by INFA Events UK and INFA Nepal, this year’s grand finale will be held in Kathmandu on August 15, 2026 (Shrawan 30), marking the first time the prestigious award ceremony is taking place in Nepal after two successful editions in London.
A jury panel comprising veteran film personalities Gauri Malla, Harihar Sharma, Ramesh Budhathoki, and Karun Thapa reviewed more than 40 Nepali films released in 2082 BS before selecting the top five nominees across 21 competitive categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director. Among the films leading this year’s nominations are Jeri: On Top, Unko Sweater, Pooran, Koshidhunga, and Remitako Pirati.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary comedian and actor Madan Krishna Shrestha, who will also receive a cash prize of NPR 111,111. Awards will be presented in 32 categories, including jury and public choice honors.
