Jeep’s new compass goes public in Nepal

MAW Life, the official dealer of Jeep SUVs for Nepal, unveiled the new Compass through virtual media on Monday.

The new compass was unveiled by Nepal’s famous media personality Bhushan Dahal and style icon Prashant Tamrakar, who was broadcast live on Zip Nepal’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The new Compass has a long list of attractive styling, updated design and new features. The new SUV is available in four trims and eight variants including Sport, Longitude, Limited and Model S with detailed information about it.

The price of the new compass has been fixed from Rs 84.90 million to Rs 1.36 million.

Feature list

The new Compass has a revised headlight with integrated DRL, a new fog light housing, a redesigned front bumper with a larger air dam, and new alloy wheels. It also has the same attractive seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arch as before.

The interior has undergone extensive changes. The new Compass has a revamped dashboard, a new AC vent, a new HVAC control compass and a new 10.1-inch touchscreen in the middle. It also has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, double-stitch leather inserts and a new three-spot steering wheel.

The new Compass also features FCA’s fifth-generation Unconnected infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new feature has an 8th electrically adjustable front seat with dual-zone automatic climate control, power tailgate, 360-degree camera, ventilation feature.

Customers will get dual tone and full black combination in leather and fabric upholstery according to trim and variant.

For safety, the new compass has more than 50 frequencies dampen suspensions, 6 airbags, antiroll mitigation, traction control, ESC, Hill Start Assist, ABS with EBD, rain brake assist, parking sense and Isofix Child Seed Mount.

New Compass engine and powertrain

The new Compass is available in two powertrains like the previous model. The 1.4-liter multi-air turbo engine will produce a maximum of 160 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It will be available in 6 speed manual transmission and 7 speed DCT automatic option.

Similarly, the 2.0 liter multijet to engine will produce 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. It will be available in 6-speed manual transmission and 9-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel drive will be available in diesel variants with four modes including Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud.
