The play “DhukDhuki 72 Megahertz” by Mandala Theater explores the complexities, aspirations, desires, constraints, helplessness, choices, and trust within a couple fervently wishing for a child. It delves beyond events, portraying human emotions, coexistence, and love born from the impact of life experiences.
For director Dayahang Rai, the play captures the subtle sounds of the human heart—an average of 72 beats per minute—representing the heartbeat as an essence of life itself. Describing it as an “installation art,” he portrays scenes crafted by characters’ words, visually connecting minds and hearts. “Mandala Theater gave me the freedom to focus solely on the play without worrying about expenses,” says Rai.
The play stars Menuka Pradhan and Karma on stage, while the supporting cast includes Manish Byanju and Abha Pradhan. The production also sees contributions from a wide team, including set, sound, lighting, animation, and props experts, with a vision to create a heartfelt production.
