Marriott International and CG Hospitality Partner to Bring Ritz-Carlton and The Westin to Kathmandu by 2031

KATHMANDU – In a major boost to Nepal’s luxury tourism sector, Marriott International Inc. and CG Hospitality Global have announced a landmark multi-property agreement to debut two ultra-luxury hospitality brands in the country’s capital. The strategic expansion will introduce The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and The Westin Kathmandu, collectively adding close to 300 keys to Marriott’s premium portfolio in South Asia.

​Both properties are anticipated to officially open their doors in 2031.

​The high-profile agreement was signed in the presence of industry titans, including David Marriott (Chairman of the Board, Marriott International Inc.), Dr. Binod K. Chaudhary (Chairman, Chaudhary Group & CG Hospitality Global), and Rahul Chaudhary (Managing Director & CEO, CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality Global). The projects are being co-developed alongside Nepal’s leading business houses: IEG Group, IJ Group, and Sharma & Company.

​Unveiling Ultra-Luxury: The Ritz-Carlton, Kathmandu

​Marking the brand’s highly anticipated debut in Nepal, The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will be situated in one of the city’s most affluent neighborhoods, located just 5 km from Tribhuvan International Airport.

​The property will feature:

  • Accommodations: 150 elegantly appointed guest rooms, including 30 expansive suites.
  • Dining & Leisure: Five distinct restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and the signature Ritz-Carlton Spa.
  • Events: Over 1,100 square meters of high-end conference and event facilities.
  • Accessibility: Walking distance to key cultural and tourist landmarks, including Thamel, The Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath Stupa, and the Pashupatinath Temple.

​A Growing Global Alliance

​This double-signing is the latest milestone in a rapidly growing partnership between Marriott and CG Hospitality. In under two years, their collaboration on the Series by Marriott brand in India has already crossed 75 properties, with 50 currently operational across 43 cities.

​CG Hospitality’s global footprint continues to expand aggressively, boasting a portfolio of over 220 hotels and resorts across 12 countries, with a target to grow its joint-venture portfolio to over 600 hotels by 2030.
