Kathmandu Mayor Demands Removal of Controversial Dialogue in South Indian Film ‘Adipurush’; Threatens Ban on Hindi Films

Adipurush

Kathmandu Metropolitan Mayor Balen Shah has raised objections to certain dialogues featured in the South Indian film ‘Adipurush’. Mayor Shah has firmly stated that no Hindi films will be permitted to be screened within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City until the dialogue, “Janki is an Indian daughter,” included in the film, is removed.

In a post on the social networking site Facebook, Mayor Shah expressed his opinion on the matter, asserting that the dialogue needs to be modified not only in Nepal but also in India.

“Until the dialogue, ‘Janki is an Indian daughter,’ featured in the South Indian film ‘Adipurush,’ is factually accurate, not only in Nepal but also in India, no Hindi films will be authorized for screening within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City,” he declared.

Furthermore, Mayor Shah has given a three-day deadline for rectifying the dialogue in the film.
