Mt. Everest Fashion Runway Season 2 Concluded With New Guinness World Record

Nepal has broken its own record of doing the highest altitude fashion show on land. Mt Everest Fashion Runway again became The Highest Altitude Fashion Show of the world by breaking its own Guinness world record. On 23 September, a team of 47 people was present to witness the history of the fastest shrinking glaciers near Gokyo Ri, Everest Region.

The designer Ramila Nemkul and Kasa has showcased the sustainable fashion line on the highest ramp for the world. Kasa has also launched ‘Buddhist Fashion Line’ from the same platform. This is the first time when any designer has launched the Buddhist fashion line in the world by following the teaching of Lord Buddha, Ahimsa Parmo Dharma. Designer Ramila Nemkul had researched for more than two years to find the fabric and had an official partnership with the Governmental organization, International Sericulture Organization, an organization of 21 countries. The Fashion Show was conducted at a height of 5500 meters!

The Crowning was done by Riken Maharjan who was heading R.B.Diamond Jewellers. Riken Maharjan has designed a special design for the Sustainable show and the designs were inspired by the Himalayas and especially Mt Everest. Riken Maharjan has also presented a crown made of Nepali stone called Kyanite.

Mishu has styled the models by supporting the show with its accessories. The accessories were completely sustainable and matched the Buddhist fashion line.

During the event, supermodels from 10 countries walked the ramp which was set on top of the glaciers. The Prince of Tuscany, Cosimo de Medici also walked wearing Kasa design and the Buddhist line. This is the first time in history that an Italian Prince walked on a ramp in Nepal wearing Made in Nepal and promoting Made in Nepal.

The Models along with the Prince of Tuscany started the trekking from Lukla on 12 September and reached the venue on 22 September to execute the highest altitude show. The show has created history on 23 September and now the team has started trekking back to Lukla.

The Guinness book of world record has recorded the new names as Pankaj k Gupta, Ramila Nemkul, and Riken Maharjan for executing the Highest altitude fashion show on Land.
