
Lalitpur, March 28, 2025 – The 19th Graduation Fashion Show of Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT), titled Anukalpit Prabhanam, dazzled audiences at The Plaza Nepal, Jhamsikhel. The event was a spectacular showcase of creativity, culture, and craftsmanship, featuring the innovative works of 88 graduating fashion designers. The evening unfolded through nine distinct collections, each narrating a unique fusion of heritage and contemporary design.
A Celebration of Fashion and Culture
The runway came alive as models adorned in meticulously crafted ensembles presented nine thematic collections—Divyakanta, Mimamsa, Himalayan Euphony, Samsara, Nepalese Nirvana, Prarambhantika, Hiraeth of Weaves, Suramya Pahiran, and Sovereign Luxe. Each collection reflected the designers’ ability to merge Nepal’s rich cultural legacy with modern aesthetics. The event underscored the innovative potential of young designers while celebrating the country’s artistic heritage.
Highlights of the Collections:
- Divyakanta paid homage to Queen Maya Devi’s divine femininity with silk drapes and intricate embroidery.
- Mimamsa drew inspiration from Kathmandu’s Jatras, incorporating Newar motifs into vibrant fabrics.
- Himalayan Euphony reflected the serenity of the Himalayas through sustainable hemp and wool ensembles.
- Samsara symbolized the cycle of life with chakra-inspired khadi designs.
- Nepalese Nirvana blended Nepal’s architectural grandeur with contemporary silhouettes.
- Prarambhantika depicted the transformative journey of Maa Kali through bold, layered designs.
- Hiraeth of Weaves celebrated Nepal’s bamboo craftsmanship with structured yet fluid silhouettes.
- Suramya Pahiran revived Banarasi and Nepali silk, promoting sustainable bridal fashion.
- Sovereign Luxe embodied regal opulence by fusing Dhaka fabric with luxurious embellishments.
A Star-Studded Evening
The grand event commenced with a special appearance by Mrs. Gyani Shova Tuladhar, Founder Principal of NCFT, accompanied by professional models. Renowned choreographer Rojin Shakya directed the show, featuring 36 models, including students. The seamless execution of the event was credited to the tireless efforts of student coordinators Prisha Joshi, Anima Shrestha, Priyanshi Khetan, Bharosa Gautam, Senisha Balami, and Nishant Chapagain.
A Platform for Future Fashion Leaders
The evening also marked the unveiling of the fourth edition of the NCFT fashion catalog, launched by esteemed figures including Neel Mani Pokhrel, Registrar of Purbanchal University, and Dr. Sandesh Das Shrestha, Dean of the Faculty of Management, alongside other dignitaries.
