S&S Creation Won “Designer of the Year” at Inaugural Fashion Extravaganza

Kathmandu, The Hidden Treasure’s highly anticipated “Designer of the Year” competition culminated in a dazzling finale on Saturday, with S&S Creation clinching the coveted title. The event, held to mark the organization’s 30th anniversary, showcased the ingenuity of Nepal’s emerging fashion talents, blending traditional heritage with contemporary flair.

Hosted in Kathmandu, the finale saw the top 10 finalists— shortlisted from auditions in Biratnagar, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, and Kathmandu — present their collections through a vibrant runway show. Models strutted in elaborate designs, including national costumes and evening gowns crafted specifically for The Hidden Treasure, as judges evaluated creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural resonance.

S&S Creation impressed the panel with their bold reinterpretation of ethnic motifs fused with modern aesthetics. The winning duo received a cash prize, two high-tech sewing machines, and the opportunity to feature their designs on international platforms. Their creations will grace global stages when Miss Nepal representatives compete at Miss World, Miss Earth, and Miss International.

The competition, aimed at empowering emerging designers, provided finalists with four weeks of mentorship from industry experts. Participants honed their skills under renowned professionals, curating five original pieces each. Kantipur Television, the broadcasting partner, documented the journey in a three-episode series set to air soon.

A distinguished judging panel comprising local and international fashion luminaries praised the event’s focus on nurturing talent. “This platform not only celebrates artistry but also strengthens Nepal’s fashion fraternity,” remarked one judge.

The Hidden Treasure emphasized the contest’s role in redefining fashion narratives through youthful innovation. As the curtains closed on this maiden edition, organizers vowed to expand the initiative, promising brighter opportunities for Nepal’s creative minds in the years ahead.
