From April 21 to April 30, Bao Xuan, the Chinese Specialty Restaurant at The Soaltee Kathmandu, is hosting the Thai Food Festival. The festival features authentic Thai cuisine crafted by Master Chef Wimon Junlawong, who has traveled all the way from Thailand to lead the event.
Chef Junlawong is an expert at presenting traditional Thai dishes in a contemporary style, adding her unique spin to make them even more delicious. The festival will offer a special ala carte menu with popular dishes such as Som Tam, Moo Yang Num Jim Jaew, Home Made Curry (red, green & yellow), Panang Curry, Pad Kimao, and more. The meal will conclude with a banana and coconut cream dessert.
The Thai Food Festival is open daily with Set Menu Lunch available from 12:30 pm to 03:00 pm and Ala Carte Dinner available from 07:00 pm to 10:45 pm. Visitors can expect to immerse themselves in a culinary adventure of authentic Thai cuisine and indulge in the rich, diverse gastronomic history of Thailand.
About Chef Wimon Junlawong
Chef Wimon Junlawong is a highly experienced Thai cuisine chef with 16 years of expertise in various hotels in Thailand and India. She has opened several restaurants, including Aman Restaurant (in Aman Hotel in 2009), Holy Basil Restaurant (in Radisson Blu Hyderabad in 2012), 55 East (in Grand Hyatt Mumbai in 2014), and Thai Soul (in Grand Hyatt Bolgaty, Kochi in 2018).
Throughout her career, Chef Wimon has conducted Thai food promotions, events, and kitchen team training in numerous hotels, including Park Hyatt Hyderabad, Hyatt Regency Pune, Hyatt Regency Kolkata, Oberoi Sukhvilas Chandigarh, Hyatt Andaz New Delhi, Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, Hyatt Regency Gurugram, Grand Hyatt Mumbai, and Leela Palace Bengaluru.
Chef Wimon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Mahasarakham University in Thailand and is certified in Thai cuisine. She has worked and collaborated with several key brands in the industry, including Aman, Radisson, Hyatt, Oberoi, and Leela. With her vast experience and expertise in Thai cuisine, Chef Wimon is considered a master of her craft and continues to delight food enthusiasts with her culinary creations.
